Group TherapyGroup therapy is offered for several issues. Two Sexual Addiction groups are offered weekly with a maximum of seven members in each group. In the context of a shared history addicts are free to open the wounds that have been covered over with inappropriate behaviors (sometimes referred to as 'acting out'). The ability to establish intimacy with fellow addicts over a period of time is invaluable practice for establishing intimacy in a primary relationship. We also offer a women's group to assist participants in dealing with relationship issues, career issues, recovery experiences, and family-of-origin work. This group meets weekly and members are encouraged to support and challenge one another in growing healthier. Parenting is a challenging experience. By working with others who are experiencing challenges with their children, parents are able to set better boundaries and confront confusing behavioral problems. This group meets in the Dallas office. Couples in Recovery often struggle to find common ground once the addictive substance or addictive behavior is in remission. As a result what started out as hopeful in early stage recovery is often the wedge that splinters the relationship. This is an intensive group setting that meets every other week for 16 weeks. This group is designed to address core issues central to relationships and assist in redefining the new rules for the relationship. |
