
Positive Parenting with a Plan:
Empowering Parents with Challenging Children and Adolescents
This program will provide the parent(s) with a very thorough, research-based positive plan for parenting that is used by Family and Juvenile Courts, social service agencies, schools and churches throughout the country as the core model of intervention with acting-out children and adolescents. Gary Kimbrough will teach a behavior modification program for the entire family system that is easy to learn and implement within the home. This program is designed specifically for parents who have children or teens with challenging behaviors and will help to improve communication and family relationships.
The Positive Parenting group meets for 90 minutes once a week for 12 weeks. Group sessions are held from 6:30 - 9:00 on Thursday evenings at our convenient Marietta office and all course materials are provided by the instructor. Dr. Matthew Johnson's book, Positive Parenting With A Plan, is also offered at an small additional cost to participants.
By participating in Positive Parenting, parents will learn:
How to avoid the 7 cardinal sins of parenting which result in the failure of most parenting programs in the home.
Tactics used by kids to manipulate authority at home and in the school
The concrete nuts and bolts for a successful research-based parenting program.
How to monitor for "correct and consistent implementation.
How to identify childhood struggles that interfere with compliance.
Positive Parenting is a very affordable program for parents who are willing to commit to the resolution of chaos in their family. It can also be implemented for individual families however, is extremely effective in this group format.
